Decommissioned equipment is raw material
A laptop contains aluminium, copper, gold and rare earth metals that can be reused. Every device is first registered and stripped of its storage media, after which we dismantle it and separate it by material. The figures per stream are included in your report, ready for CSRD and WEEE.

What happens to each material
Per assignment we report the weight per stream and its destination. On the left the streams from the equipment itself, on the right what happens to the storage media and the remaining streams. The percentages are example values, RQNX confirms the actual split.

Questions about recycling
Which equipment do you accept for recycling?
Laptops, desktops, servers, storage, network equipment, phones, monitors, printers, cables and peripherals. If in doubt, send a list.
What happens to the storage media?
These are erased or destroyed according to NIST SP 800-88 before dismantling, with a certificate per device. Only after that does the equipment enter the material stream.
Does recycling cost money or generate revenue?
That depends on the mix. We value usable equipment in advance and buy it back; the proceeds are offset against the processing costs of the rest.
What figures do I get for my CSRD reporting?
Per assignment: weight per material stream, destination and processor, share reused and the number of devices by serial number.
